Setup

Installed and licensed in three minutes.

Same three steps as every iToolKit™ plugin. No FTP required.

1

Upload the zip

Download the Capture zip from your account page, then in WordPress go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin. Activate when prompted.

2

Activate your license

Open Capture → License, paste the key from your receipt email, and click Activate. That unlocks automatic updates for a full year.

3

Create your first campaign

Go to Capture → Campaigns and start from a template. The guides below take it from there.

Getting Started

Your first campaign.

Launch your first campaign
Go to Capture → Campaigns → Add Campaign and pick one of the 30 done-for-you templates — flash sale, webinar registration, cart rescue, content upgrade, waitlist, two-step, and more, each rendered live in the gallery with a full-size preview. Tweak copy and blocks in the visual builder and watch the live preview update as you type, choose where it shows and when it fires, and activate. Your first campaign can be live before your coffee goes cold.
Start from a ToolBook recipe
A template fills in the design half of a campaign; a ToolBook ships a working campaign. Flip the gallery toggle from Templates to ToolBooks and pick an outcome — cart rescue, lead magnet delivery, launch deadline, webinar seats, closed-doors waitlist, first-order discount, content upgrade, back-in-stock list, sale early access, or exit newsletter. One click applies the design plus the triggers, frequency, and targeting that fit the job, and even titles the campaign if you haven't. Ten recipes ship built in, everything stays editable, and nothing is stored until you save.
Pick the right campaign type
Capture has five: a lightbox popup (front and center, best for big offers), a slide-in (slides up from the corner, polite but visible), a floating bar (pins to the top or bottom of the page, great for announcements), a fullscreen welcome mat (takes over the whole screen for your most important offer), and an inline form (drops anywhere in your content via shortcode or block). Every template is built on one of these, and you can switch styles without starting over.
Preview before you go live
The campaign editor shows a live preview as you build, so you see exactly what visitors will see — blocks, colors, copy, and all — before you activate anything. Nothing shows on your site until you flip the campaign to active.
Use countdown timers and yes/no gates
Two blocks do the heavy lifting on urgency and commitment. The countdown block runs to a fixed deadline or as an evergreen per-visitor window. The yes/no block turns any opt-in into a two-step: the form stays hidden until the visitor clicks Yes — a micro-commitment that reliably lifts conversions. Both are in the block picker, and several templates already use them.
Style it to match your brand
The design panel goes past colors. Pick a font feel (clean sans, elegant serif, or typewriter mono — system stacks, so nothing downloads and nothing shifts), a corner shape (soft, square, or pill), a layout (Banner headline turns your first headline into an accent-colored band; Accent edge adds a bold color rail down the card's left side), and a backdrop (Accent glow washes a soft tint from the corner; Dot grid lays a subtle pattern behind your copy). Layouts and backdrops are drawn from your accent color in pure CSS — zero image downloads, zero layout shift — and half the template gallery ships with these looks already applied.
Personalize with smart tags
Drop {{page_title}}, {{page_url_path}}, {{referrer_host}}, {{date}}, {{weekday}}, {{month}}, or {{year}} into any campaign text, button, or field placeholder and it resolves on the visitor's screen, in their language and timezone — "Enjoying {{page_title}}?" just works on every post. No memorizing required: the editor lists all seven as one-click chips. Click into a text field, click a chip, and the tag lands at your cursor with the live preview resolving it instantly. Tags resolve in the visitor's browser with the same safe text handling as the rest of your copy — no cloud lookups, nothing phones home.
Triggers & Targeting

Show the right campaign to the right visitor.

Set when your campaign fires
Five behavioral triggers: exit intent (fires as the cursor heads for the close button — on phones, a fast flick up), scroll depth (fires after the visitor scrolls a set percentage of the page), time on page, click (fires when the visitor clicks an element you choose), and inactivity (fires when the visitor goes idle — no scroll, mouse, key, or touch for the number of seconds you pick; any input re-arms the clock). Pick one per campaign in the campaign settings.
Schedule a start and stop time
Every campaign takes an optional start and stop date-time (your site's timezone) right in the status panel. Outside the window the campaign simply does not load — the decision happens on your server, so visitors' browsers never even see it. Leave the status Active and let the schedule open the doors on launch morning while you sleep. Blank means no limit, and existing campaigns are untouched.
Stop nagging repeat visitors
Frequency capping limits how often the same visitor sees a campaign, and visitors who subscribe stop seeing that campaign automatically. Set the cap in the campaign settings — your list grows without your site feeling like a timeshare pitch.
Choose who sees it
Targeting runs server-side: show a campaign on specific pages or post types, on desktop or mobile only, or to logged-in or logged-out visitors only. If iToolKit™ Members is on the same site, you can also target by membership level — show upgrade offers to one tier and not another.
Subscribers & Email

Your list lives with you.

Where your subscribers actually live
In your own WordPress database, on your own server. Every capture lands in the native subscriber list under Capture → Subscribers, with CSV export a click away. We never see, store, or transit a single address — the only call Capture makes to itoolkit.com is the license check.
Connect your email provider
Captured leads can flow beyond the native list: connect your own Mailchimp, Brevo, Kit (ConvertKit), ActiveCampaign, MailerLite, GetResponse, or AWeber account under Capture → Settings and new subscribers sync to it automatically. Most connectors use your own API key; AWeber connects with one click through its own secure login page — your AWeber password never touches your site, and you can revoke the access grant any time from either side. Either way your site talks directly to your provider and your credentials stay on your server — nothing routes through iToolKit™. The Test connections buttons on the same Settings screen validate your saved credentials with one read-only click, and the Recent sync activity table shows the last 20 pushes with their outcomes — a failed push never means a lost lead, because every capture lands in your native list first. When iToolKit™ LMS is on the same site, you can also pipe captures straight into the LMS email subsystem.
Webhooks, FunnelKit Automations, and welcome emails
No supported provider? Send every capture as JSON to any webhook URL (Zapier, Make, n8n, or your own endpoint) — an optional shared secret adds a signature header your receiver can verify. If FunnelKit Automations runs on the same site, captures can become tagged CRM contacts with no API keys at all. And any campaign can send an automatic welcome email on opt-in through your site’s own mail setup — campaigns that deliver a lead magnet send only the delivery email, so new subscribers never get two.
Deliver a lead magnet
Attach a file or link to a campaign and Capture delivers it to new subscribers automatically. Delivery rides your site’s own mail configuration — no relay, no shared sending domain, no per-subscriber pricing.
Optimize & Measure

Find out what actually works.

Run an A/B split test
Create both versions as ordinary campaigns, then pair them in the A/B Test box on either campaign. Capture flips a 50/50 coin per visitor and keeps each visitor on their variant. Live stats show side by side in both campaigns — when you have a winner, click Declare Winner and the loser pauses automatically. Test one change at a time so you know what moved the number.
See real revenue next to each campaign
If WooCommerce is active, Capture credits completed orders back to the campaign that captured the buyer — matched server-side on your own site, cookieless, with a 90-day window. A Revenue column appears in your campaigns list, so you can see which campaigns actually pay for themselves.
Read your campaign stats
Impressions, conversions, and conversion rate sit right in the Campaigns list — no separate analytics screen to dig through. Tracking is privacy-first by default: Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are honored, no cookies are set, and no personally identifying information is stored in the events ledger.
Data, Privacy & License

Your data, your rules.

Export or erase a subscriber (GDPR)
Capture plugs into WordPress core’s privacy tools. Use Tools → Export Personal Data or Tools → Erase Personal Data with the subscriber’s email address — export hands them their data, erase hard-deletes them from every campaign. Suggested privacy policy text is included under Capture → Settings.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
Nothing — by default your campaigns, subscribers, and settings are preserved so you can reinstall without losing anything. If you want a true clean wipe, switch on “Delete data on uninstall” in the plugin settings first; deleting the plugin then removes everything.
Move your license to a new site
Open Capture → License on the old site and click Deactivate — that frees the activation slot instantly. Then activate the same key on the new site. No support ticket needed.
My license says the site limit is reached
Each license covers a set number of active sites. Deactivate the license on a site you no longer use and the slot frees up immediately. Can’t reach the old site? Email support and a human will sort it.
