Members Documentation

Set it up once. Let renewals do the rest.

Every guide for iToolKit™ Members — levels, recurring billing, content protection, and the member experience.

  • Levels, billing & drip
  • Native Stripe & PayPal
  • Self-serve member dashboard
Setup

Installed and licensed in three minutes.

Same three steps as every iToolKit™ plugin. No FTP required.

1

Upload the zip

Download the Members zip from your account page, then in WordPress go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin. Activate when prompted.

2

Activate your license

Open the Members License screen, paste the key from your receipt email, and click Activate. That unlocks automatic updates for a full year.

3

Create your first level

Add a membership level, set its price, and pick what it unlocks. The guides below take it from there.

Levels & Protection

Decide who gets what.

Create your first membership level
Add a level, name it, and set its price and billing interval — monthly or annual. Levels are the backbone of everything else: protection, drip, the dashboard, and the LMS bridge all key off the level a member holds. Create as many as your offer needs; there’s no per-level or per-member fee.
Protect content by level
Gate pages and posts by membership level and only members at that level (or above) can see them. Everyone else gets sent where you choose. Set the rules once and every piece of protected content enforces them automatically.
Drip content on each member’s join clock
Set a delay in days on any piece of protected content and it unlocks that many days after each member joined — everyone gets the same week-two experience no matter when they signed up. Members see what they’ve earned, not a wall of everything at once.
Upgrades and downgrades
Members can switch tiers and every switch takes effect immediately, with proration handled automatically — upgraders pay the fair difference, downgraders get credit toward the cheaper level. No manual math, no support ticket.
Billing

Recurring revenue without the duct tape.

How recurring billing works
Native Stripe and PayPal subscriptions, monthly or annual, with your own accounts — the money goes straight to you. Failed payments get a grace period instead of an instant cutoff, so a stale card doesn’t cost you a good member.
Let members cancel themselves
Members can cancel from their own dashboard, no email required. Cancellation runs to the end of the paid period — they keep access to what they paid for, then it lapses cleanly. Self-serve cancel sounds scary; in practice it means fewer angry support emails and zero chargebacks over “I couldn’t cancel.”
Member Experience

Give members a home.

The member dashboard
Drop the [itk_membership] shortcode on any page and that page becomes the member dashboard: current level, status, member-since date, next renewal, price, billing history, and self-serve cancel. Lapsed members see a rejoin card showing which level ended, so winning them back is one click.
The member directory
An opt-in directory of member profiles — strictly opt-in, so nobody appears without choosing to. Lapsed members hide from the directory automatically and reappear if they rejoin. Email addresses are never shown.
Integrations & License

Plays well with the rest of the kit.

Pair it with iToolKit™ LMS
When iToolKit™ LMS is on the same site, levels auto-enroll members into the courses you attach to them — join the level, get the courses. Members who bought a course directly keep their access even if they never join a level, and lapsed members lose level-granted courses without touching direct purchases.
Move your license to a new site
Open the Members License screen on the old site and click Deactivate — that frees the activation slot instantly. Then activate the same key on the new site. No support ticket needed.
My license says the site limit is reached
Each license covers a set number of active sites. Deactivate the license on a site you no longer use and the slot frees up immediately. Can’t reach the old site? Email support and a human will sort it.
